What when you need Pump Genius Simplex Plus on your drive

When we have the right information pre-sale this works perfectly… on occasions or urgent delivery is required for break down, this information may be missed.

If so, below are the steps required to set your drive up for Pump Genius.

1. If installed the drive should have a “Pump Genius Installed” sticker on the front of the drive or

2. Check Firmware version: Go to parameter P0023. It should show Software Version 5.36.

3. Check for PG software install and version: Go to parameter P1010. It should show “PG Simplex Plus V11 – 0.11”.

4. Check Pump Genius is running: Search for parameter P1000 – SoftPLC Status. If this parameter shows “App. Running” you are good to go! If not, please follow the steps below.

What you need!

1. Windows laptop – sorry you can’t download this :)

2. WFD_v261 firmware uploader software,

3. Pump Genius Firmware cf11d_ve5.36_d11,

4. WLP (WEG Ladder Programmer) software,

5. Pump Genius “CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011.bkp” backup file,

6. CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus – Application Manual V11.

7. Or All the files in one big *.zip file.

8. USB TYPE A/B CABLE (supplied with each new CFW11 drive) – you also cannot download this :)

Sequence of events:

The following steps are being explained further down this document.

1. Download files onto laptop,

2. Turn on CFW11 drive,

3. Connect USB cable on laptop and drive,

4. Upload PG firmware onto drive using the WFD_v261 firmware uploader software,

5. Set drive to English language,

6. Reset drive to factory default 50Hz,

7. Install WLP software.

8. Open WLP software and restore backup file “CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011.bkp”,

9. Download CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011 onto CFW11 drive (User Program and User Parameters Configuration),

10. Perform Pump Genius Simplex Configuration Wizard’

11. Enjoy the Pump Genius Plus benefits.

Events explained:

1. Download files onto laptop: Place what you need from the links above into a file you can access from your laptop.

2. Connect USB cable on laptop and drive:

IP20 CFW11 drive – USB port is accessible via the front panel.
IP55 CFW11 drive – USB port is accessible by removing the front lid of the drive.

3. Upload PG firmware onto drive using the WFD_v261 firmware uploader software using the steps below:

1st Step: Open the WFD Software
2nd Step: With the WFD software open click on Open File
3rd Step: Browse for the Firmware previously saved for easy access on your computer and click on Open
4th Step: With the right Firmware version selected click on Download Firmware
It takes several minutes until the Firmware is downloaded.
When the download is finished. Click on Yes to start Drive Operations. And close the WFD software.

4. Set drive to English language:

At this stage, the drive will have automatically reset, and it may be that Portuguese is the language on the HMI.
In that case change the language to English and reset the drive to factory defaults 50Hz. Otherwise just reset the drive to factory default 50Hz:

Changing the language.

– Press menu,
– Select “TODOS PARÂMETROS”,
– Set Parameter P0000 – “Acesso aos Parâmetros” to 5,
– Set Parameter P0201 – “Idioma” to [1] = English,

5. Reset drive to factory default 50Hz:

– Set Parameter P0204 – “Load/Save Parameters” to [6] = Load 50Hz.

Now the drive is ready receive the Pump Genius Program.

6. Install WLP software:

Double click on the program and follow the installation instructions.

7. Open WLP software and click on restore backup file “CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011.bkp”,

Open the ladder application on the WLP, restore the backup file “CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011.bkp” and download it to the SoftPLC function of the CFW-11 inverter, as well as the parameter values configured on the configuration wizard.

1st Step: Restore the backup file “CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011.bkp”.
2nd Step: Press Yes on restoration prompt.

8. Download CFW11 Pump Genius Simplex Plus V011 onto CFW11 drive (User Program and User Parameters Configuration),

1st Step: Adjust the configuration of the WLP communication interface with the equipment, can be via serial port (COM1..COM8) or via USB. For this, select Communicate and then click Configuration (Shift + F8).
2nd Step: Download the ladder application and user’s parameter. For this, select Communicate and then click Download (F8).
Make sure that the Software version in the Properties section of the program is Ve3.31
3rd Step: Select “User Program” and “Users Parameters Configuration” in the download dialog. Then click “Ok” to start the transfer to the CFW-11 inverter.
4th Step: Download the ladder application to the CFW-11 inverter. For this, after the project is compiled and the CFW-11 inverter is identified, click “Yes” to start the download.
5th Step: Enable the execution of the SoftPLC user program after the download of the ladder application to the CFW-11 inverter. Click “Yes” to enable the execution of the SoftPLC user program.
6th Step: Download the user’s parameters configuration of the ladder application to the CFW-11 inverter. For this, click “Download” in the user parameters configuration dialog; and then, click “Yes” to start the download.

9. Perform Pump Genius Simplex Configuration Wizard.

1st Step: Start the configuration wizard setup for Pump Genius Simplex application. For this, click the Configuration Wizard “Pump Genius Simplex Plus” in the project tree bar and follow the steps described in the subsequent windows.
2nd Step: Click “Finish” in the summary of Pump Genius Simplex Plus configuration.
3rd Step: Send the values of the parameters configured in the configuration wizard of Pump Genius Simplex Plus for the CFW-11 inverter. For this, click “Yes” to start sending the values.
